Color Theory in Digital Photography
During our Composition Unit students focused on contrast for a variety of projects diving deeply into color contrast. This opened up an opportunity for better understanding in Color Theory. Throughout various photographing and editing projects students explored complimentary colors, colorful vs. neutral, and warm vs. cool colors.
Artist Statement
My studio practice is rooted in my inspiration and connection to the natural world. Throughout my various mediums and techniques I constantly return to nature. Either through visual representation as homage and praise of her natural beauty, or through abstract characterization to show the interaction between human and nature. My personal relationship with nature is an internal struggle. I constantly want to covet nature, to capture and claim it as my own, to display the outdoors in my indoor spaces. It is a drive to collect, preserve and protect, as well as something more selfish. My artwork is the aftermath of my internal struggle of respecting the earth I live on and my desire to claim and disturb her for my own. Through various mediums I am able to find peace in my desire while still preserving and protecting nature from myself and other people and their impact.
